I think Obama made the comment because he is human first, President second. Much, if not most, of what he does or says on a daily basis probably has nothing to do with Presidential situations. Re: Obama, maybe everyone is reading too much into it. At the time it was asked, everyone was talking about the incident. It was in the papers, on TV and all over the internet. Everyone was giving their opinion on it, so I think it was a fair question to ask the Pres, even off topic.. I doubt there was anything racial about it at all.

Shasta, my guess is that it has more to do with the color of skin. Reporters are asking these questions of Obama because he is black, and the individual involved in being a jackass is black, plain and simple. They'd never have dared ask a white president about the behavior of a black celebrity...sorry, but that's how I see it

Alright, I have a question. Why is it that Obama is getting into this anyway? Even off the record. I mean, who asked him...and why? I've never cared for the guy or his singing so no big lose for me, I was laughing when I watched the video of Obama calling him a jack ass, but it is a little insulting to the mule to be compared to Kanye.

Kanye is beyond the scum of the Earth! Planned or not, he should be banned from every awards show. PERIOD! His music is not welcome in my home or car. I'd never pay a plug nickel, even if my kids begged on their knees for anything that is a product of his.

That is disappointing but I wouldn't be surprised Bas.. for a guy that was allegedly caught drinking on the Red Carpet beforehand and may have contributed, Kanye was pretty well spoken, no slurring, stammering when he was being a "hole" to Taylor. Even more bugging to me was how it was convenient that he was promoting something the next night on Jay Leno's first episode NEW show. I heard he was always set to only perform, but asked for a moment to speak with Jay (ON THE FREAKING PREMIERE EPISODE during prime time hours) to apologize... He realizes he was wrong.. "Barf"

I can't imagine they were out to hurt Taylor..and I would rather think she was not included. I am gullible enough and would be disappointed to think if I fell for her even being part of it.

Not a Kanye fan before either way....and admittedly I had liked the "Gold...

I sometimes read this blog by a Hollywood insider/lawyer type. He is of the opinion this whole thing was staged between Kanye and Beyonce's people (her daddy). He says at awards shows like this, everyone knows who the winners will be beforehand, so for Kanye to be offended about Beyonce's not winning one award is ridiculous. Especially when she was going to get another one later on that evening. After "the incident" Papa Knowles went backstage to Taylor's people and said that "WHEN" Beyonce got her award, she would invite Taylor up "to have her moment", which is exactly what happened.

So he thinks the whole thing was stage managed, since all parties got something out of it (though he does think Taylor was unaware of what was going on). People still think Kanye is an asshole, but they always thought that and he gets more press. People feel bad for Taylor, and that is gonna sell a few more albums. But the big winner of the...

Yeah, but this rear end named Kanye has been quick to act first, ask forgiveness later. He's all show and spotlight and knows that his antics put his name and face in front of the public (any publicity is good publicity). He gives a half-hearted apology so he can "look good" to those who may have been offended, but does anyone at this point really believe him? Instead of using your blog and the talk show circuit to apologize for your asinine commnets, Kanye, why don't you keep your mouth shut in the first place and later use the blog and talk shows to voice your differing opinion in an appropriate manner? That would be more professional.

There were it seemed a million stories about this jackass moment of Kanye West and his taking Taylor's deserved moment away. I posted this article as it was my favorite...I totally respect her Mom's reaction and wish I knew what she said as that was my first thought was her mother must have been crazy with anger. IF that was my daughter I would have wanted to knock him out.

A little too late, an apology on his blog,.. he's a media hog as we've seen before, but this was unnecessary and even cruel to any artist.

Poor Beyonce was mortified in the audience and always appears to be a real class act.

Did anyone see this last night? I don't care what your opinion is of other peoples musical talents, but it is the height of rudeness to not only steal a winner's spotlight, but to insult them in such a way on national television. I have no idea who this girl is, but I felt just awful for her standing there not knowing what to do. Kanye might as well have dumped a bucket of pigs blood on her and started yelling "They're all laughing at you Carrie"
