What else looks good? Anyone else like the movies I mentioned?

Saw "My Sister's Keeper" recently...I have not welled up so many times during a movie. The movie is about a family who gave birth to a genetically engineered daughter so that she can donate bone marrow, blood, etc to her older sister who was diagnosed with Leukemia. The youngest daughter hires a lawyer to regain control of her body, not wanting to be the donor any more. The movie jumps around in time, but its fairly easy to follow. I give this a 9 out of 10, one less of perfect due to its predictability but a nice film nonetheless.

The Hangover was one of my favorite movies of 2009! Before I saw it, I went in thinking it was going to be just another stupid comedy about a group of people who went out drinking, but I was surprised to see that it was actually a REALLY movie with REAL characters, and incredibly funny to boot! Definitely a must-see.

No doubt there were resistance groups in WWII, but the events of the movie were way out there that it couldn't have possibly happened...for the most part. =)

I guess this movie brought home the top honors at the SAG award last night.

Just watched Hangover...was available on a flight I took back in October but I never watched it until now. Basic gist is a group of friends take their bud to Vegas for a bachelor party, but the day after the couldn't remember what happened and worst yet, they couldn't find the groom to be. The entire movie is spent on the three guys trying to retrace what happened the previous night and had some funny scenes...like a naked Chinese man jumping out of the trunk of the car and starts beating them with a crow bar. I'd give it an 8 out of 10.

BTW...some scenes can be considered crude and can see if some parental groups getting upset over it.

While I am not a real WW2 buff or historian, I do know that there was resistance to the Nazi invasions in various places

The details of THIS movie may not be correct (I haven't see it, or researched the time & place) I do believe that something like this is at least partly based on at least "pieces" of actual resistance fighters

Hollywood does, of course, compress many events into the confines of a movie

Blind Side is Sandra Bullock's "drama star" making movie... she is absolutely believable as Leah Ann Touhy... and it was a really nice touch,
during the end credits, to have pictures of the real family the movie was based on... 10 Stars out of 10 and I totally agree with her Golden Globe award as
Best Acress

Then there is the UNbelievable Avatar... I can't even begin to match the magazine reviews here, so will just say it is really great, about 12 out of 10

I watched Jennifer's Body the other night. It's with Megan Fox and she is inhabited by a demon, so I was prepared for it to be really, really bad.
But it was actually really well done. It doesn't take itself too seriously and is done in a really campy way. Plus, the teenagers act like teenagers, for
the most part - unusual in these type of movies. The other lead is the girl who plays the oldest daughter in "Big Love" and she's really good in
it.

The Ninth Gate with Johnny Depp...nice little suspense movie with a touch of comedy. Johnny Depp's character is hired to confirm the authenticity of a book
on the devil, but it turns out to be more than he bargained for. On a scale of 10, I'd give it a 7.

Traitor with Don Cheadle. After serving in Afghanistan, Cheadle's character has turned traitor and begins working with Muslim extremist that has lead to
bombing of a US embassy, and the ultimate plan of causing mass chaos during the holiday travel. The FBI is hot on his trail, but always 3 steps behind Cheadle
and the extremists. Would the FBI stop them in time? Very good thriller movie...I'd give it a 9 out of 10.

Michael Clayton - Excellent film. The ending felt like it was on fast forwards, but was a pretty good flick.

Juno - Can see why this was nominated for several awards. Very good movie.

Zack and Miri Make A Porn - A typical Kevin Smith movie, and predictable ending, but funny nonetheless and good as always. This one scene had me howling,
though.
