Well, until we hear the women's side of things, we really don't know if he used any unethical tactics to get the ladies into bed with him. And since there had been nary a whisper about any shennigans on Letterman's part over the years, I am willing to bet the relationships were consensual and satisfying for both parties, because you know if they weren't, one of them at least would have screamed "sexual harrassment". And from what I have read, one of the ladies in question still works for him.

Personally, I don't see that he did anything wrong. He wouldn't be the first person to use the workplace as a dating pool. Bosses date their employees all the time with no threat of coercion. Dave's not a bad looking guy, and he has alot of money, so I am sure he has been come on to by more than one woman in his lifetime. If he did anything wrong, it was cheating on his then-girlfriend, but since no ring was on her finger, we don't know the circumstances and perhaps each were allowed to have "friends with benefits". And from what we know, once he got married any outside relationships stopped.

I think he did the right thing in going to the police and going public about this douche who was blackmailing him. It's not like he was doing it with children. It was with other consenting adults and did not break any laws. He will come through this fine.

I think this sort of thing shows that while Dave can dish it out, he can take it too.

But I have to laugh at bloggers and gossip columnists who on the one hand say he is handling this well, but on the other saying he should NEVER have done what he did. He got a little on the side. Big deal. It is not as if he is a politician voting against gay marriage, while at the same time cheating on his wife. He is a comedian so I don't think he is being a hypocrite. Sure he has made jokes out of other peoples scandals in the past, but that is what he is supposed to do. It is his job. There are many many celebrities who have done alot worse.
