Posts: 1218 10/15/09 09:22 PM Trivia Nut	Tags : None OK, these 2 names are all over the news. I had never heard of them until some separation. And what the heck is the plus 8? I gather reading between the lines they have 8 kids and they were on some kind of reality TV. Obviously I didn't watch the show so what the hell is so enthralling about John and Kate?

Haaa Jon and Kate were this normal family, had trouble conceiving so had in vitro and had the first two twin daughters. The control freak mother wasn't satisfied and wanted "one more" but ended up with sextuplets and therefore the 6 to make the "plus 8" part. The mother (Kate) was constantly a nag, the father Jon just seemed to be easy going and dealt with it, but since the split, he's kind of making a fool of himself and she's playing the media, the kids who are now like 6 and 9 just got lost in the story. The show was very cute when the 6 were babies and the couple got along. they lived in a normal house, had normal struggles with begging people to help handle 6 babies and just dealt, but then fame and riches struck, they moved to a big house, except for the normal plastic surgery to help with the stomach from having 8 babies (by Jon's new girlfriend's father doctor) the mother got a complete expensive makeover with wardrobe and haircut (she was dowdy before) and got a staff to help out including bodyguards, the kids got older and just are 8 older kids... the cuteness thing is gone, at least for me. My daughter loved this show when the babies were small but now I can't even stand to hear either parent speak. Time to pull the plug...

Let's hope it doesn't My observations after watching a few episodes of Jon and Kate is that Kate IS a control freak, a nightmare for most men! She's Ms. Diva, DA BOSS, what-have-you. She's very lucky that Jon actually put up with her all these years! I used to think that Jon was just another male chauvinistic pig who likes to have multiple female partners and love to party, but I can now see WHY Jon is the way he is! Any man would leave the house as much as possible just to get away from Kate!!!

I totally get why he may have gone a little wild after the split, but he is starting to look a little foolish. He is getting really bad press because he's not savvy enough. I loved him on the show, he was funny and just put up with it. He should step back.. the kids seem to adore him. She, I cannot stand. I am glad I am not married to him, but I think she is getting too good of an edit in the media compared to him.

Miss Neko, I'm glad you're with me on this...I thought only men would feel this way about Kate I mean, I don't exactly think that Jon is an angel, either, but I think that Jon is only searching for someone who would respect and pay attention to him. And from what I remember even before all this mess surfaced between Jon and Kate, Kate was just too busy taking care of the kids that Jon appeared like he just became part of the furniture that Kate could sit on and/or kick around There were times when it looked like Jon's manhood was just yanked out of him by Kate and thrown out of the window...geez. And as for Kate, yup, she's definitely getting too good of an edit in the media these days. I was watching a clip of Kate on "The View" and I couldn't believe that she looked sooo different! She appeared like she's been taking ACTING classes! I was, like, "wait, that's NOT the real Kate I knew from the TV program". She actually looked somewhat humble and normal for a change. Is she actually remorseful for what she's done to Jon, or is she just acting? Hmm...

She was on Jay Leno.. and while it could have been funny, I really do love self deprecating humor and those who can laugh at themselves.. it is not genuine for her. Kate plays the victim to me, and I say if you bitch bitch bitch constantly (honestly they show the old episodes on TLC and just the other day they showed one while they were talking on the discussion part on the couch, she nagged him because he was "breathing too loud" and then made fun of him.) and you drive him away... I wondered what took him so long. He married young and had 8 kids fast, I get his wanting to be a frat boy type, but he is a father, and while he convinces himself that his kids are too young to see him acting boorish, it will catch up with him. He seems especially close to the twin Cara and it would be too bad. He seems like a good Dad, just married too young, fame too fast and under the control of a controlling woman too long...and lately not that swift. Don't get me wrong, I love to be the boss in my house too, and my husband will fight me, or not.. but we are not on TV (nor should we be) and we are still married and plan to be. He is boss of his stuff, I am boss of the rest and I like to think I am not controlling. Haaa (Oh DJNT, you can call me Neko .. )

Posts: 1221 10/16/09 10:36 PM Trivia Nut	Thanks for the recap. I never watched the show and never knew about Jon & Kate +8 until they started showing up on the tabloid shows like Entert. Tonite after the separation/divorce then they were on some more mainstream news shows. This is a little side excursion, but I used to catch a few of the wife swap shows on ABC and they were pretty predictable with the typical hillbilly wife swapped with a Manhattan socialite and the fish out or water tale. Well now the kid in the balloon story spilled all over all the networks news and it turns out the father was on WS twice and from the clips they showed he was so melodramatic you could tell he was really acting. I'm betting he turns out to have staged this whole publicity stunt with the kid hiding in a box in the attic and his older brothers claim he was in the saucer shaped balloon. When asked if the kid would be "grounded" the dad says they didn't believe in that and he would talk to the boy. I smell a big rat and this publicity hound dad is trying to get his face on TV again.
