Assuming the innocent blah blah, I am going with assuming there is a photo of this child at stake out there, so I will say "Sorry CP, I find it odd if not a test for others that you believe it is ok for this type of child care people to defend themselves because they are "close" to a child and "playing an unassumingly innocent game."

It definitely doesn't sound like a fun game of cops and robbers when it's described and even reported in media as "The photo shows the child 'in revealing clothing, bound to a chair and gagged,' " Sounds like scum bag opportunist nannies and tsk tsk sadness even disappointment to these celeb parents even consider when hiring staff to take care of their children!!! First look should be at themselves as parents and why they say they had no clue? All mothers reluctantly hire others at times to watch their kids, but when you have the benefit of wealth, you'd like to think more security checks would have been in place, before and after hiring.

If it is acceptable as common place and if I am that mother that won't let my kid play that type of cops and robbers, so be it.

I agree with you Tev that I don't think Crawford and hubby condoned this type of game in any way and hope that my post didn't imply that. Thank you for bringing it to my attention that it may have. My comment about if I am that mother that won't let my kid play, it was in response to CP describing it as a fun game of cops and robbers.

I honestly believe Crawford/Gerber didn't know about it, at first I was disheartened that rich celebrities could let these types of (friends of) staff be near their child(ren). While I assume there was a back ground check on the nanny at hiring (which admittedly may have shown nothing) but wonder if even a security follow up as to who the nanny is exposing their child to was done as they certainly have the resources.

I'll agree that hind sight is 20/20 and who knows what I would have done in the same situation. This is a horrible example of the type of incident that when I needed to go back to work I didn't want my daughter in the sole care of one care provider. I chose a smaller day care, but one with multiple women taking care of children to watch for the weirdo or one that snaps and of course so selfishly my daughter wouldn't bond more with the single care giver.. I of course checked them out with the state; and then I crossed my fingers and said a few prayers and it was a good experience. Although it didn't read that way, I feel sorry for Crawford, this has to be hell...

I am hopeful that as is reported Crawford and Gerber continue to pursue through fullest extent possible protecting their child from that photo being released and everyone involved prosecuted accordingly.
