I've never started a topic before, so I hope this works. Is Russell a lucky little f**ker or what? THREE Hidden Immunity Idols!

Wow. Like many others I didn't like Russell at the beginning, but now I am rooting for him. Looks like he's back to his mischevious ways next week
though.

Shambo is an idiot. If they were really going to blindside Laura, Sham should have bit her lip and made nice with Laura. Instead, she cackles like a poor
loser when Laura was eliminated from the IC. She aso approached Brett and John telling them she was flipping to Foa and voting for Laura. Mick and Jaison
were not much better in talking to Monica who was Laura's closest ally. Sham should have kept her big mouth shut (she reminds me of Coach with his cut the
head off the snake BS) and tried to learn who the target was for Galu. I guess it all worked out since John flipped with Sham.
Boy was I wrong with my theory that a tie would invoke a fire starting challenge. What a bummer if it had been tied the 2nd vote and the remaining 8 would pull colored rocks. So Russ still has his HII and has a 6-3 advantage over FG-S&J. |

So John flipped along with Shambo? I guess being a rocket scientist isn't what it's cracked up to be. He just put himself way down the food chain
& only his former tribe members stand between him and his own elimination. What a doofus.

BrigidFahy wrote:____ I disagree. John was put off by his tribe trying to put him up for sacrifice without telling him. He was correct to target Natalie since she didn't look for the HII. If he had kept the tie at 4-4 like his tribe wanted, Laura and Natalie were safe and John had a 1/8 chance at going home tonight and there was a 50-50 chance that a Galu would go home and he was done anyway. By switching to Russ and Foa, John guaranteed he would stay another 3 days and have a 1/9 chance at the Million. If the 6 now stick together and vote out Monica, Brett, and Dave then separate into 2 groups of 3 to battle to the end, but things rarely work out like that in Survivor. Did anybody else see the IC as unfair to the girls? Not 1 girl broke a tile and Monica got a shot only because Dave broke a tile for her. I think it was blatantly unfair to the girls to have to throw rocks. To even things up, I wish they had used slingshots. The girls would probably still be at a disadvantage but not as bad a throwing. And having one shot was also unfair to all of them. They should have had some practice time. |

skeptik wrote:Not sure if you are talking about the crossbow or the rock throwing, but I wouldn't be surprised if off camera they had a practice shot with the crossbow. This may not need saying, but the former Galu's downfall was voting Erik off. If they wanted to dominate the Foa Foa remainder, then they would have had to keep their numbers as high as possible. They were assuming all Galu were loyal and that if they voted one of their own they would still have a two person advantage. Have they not watched any previous seasons? They assumed that everyone would continue to stick together and not, as time went on, begin to form new friendships, alliances and/or animosity. Have they not watched any previous seasons? If they would have kept Erik and got rid of a Foa, they may not have been able to stop last week's vote but they certainly would have had a better chance this week. For a team that dominated the first half of season, they really have fell on their butts in the second half. I guess their strength is brawn and lasting power in the challenges, not brains. That being said, Go Russell!!! And then you have Laura's exit interview, showing how clueless she really was. She actually thought is was a mistake to win back to back challenges. Girl, you would have been gone last week if you had not won back to back challenges. It was the best thing you could have done in that situation. Next week looks like it should be billed as Survivor: Shamboa. |

I haven't watched the episode yet, and might not have time to before next week, so I dipped in here to be spoiled.
Tev, I think you are right that the biggest mistake Galu made was voting Erik out. You can never relax in this game even if you think you have the numbers. True it would make for a boring season to have a Pagonging, but for a million I would let the show be boring and stick with the numbers. Something in the milk ain't clean with Russ finding yet a THIRD Hii. I haven't seen how he found it (did he get a clue or follow the camera guy again?) but if I was on playing this game, I would smell a rat. I just wish Russ were more likeable. |

The reward team got a telephone/pda with camera to "make some memories" at the reward
The pda part also included a written clue and a short video showing the HII under a moss covered rock Russel seemed to be the only one who paid attention to the SHAPE of that rock, so he went looking... and found it |

Yes Tev, I was talking about the rock throwing and maybe in the setup they were given time to practice on a dummy target from the same distance but maybe my
MCP sexism is showing because I always see the women as less physical than the men. In the ancient world when I grew up, the girls were inside playing with
their Barbie dolls and having tea parties while the boys were outside playing baseball and football. When Survivor has the physical challenges, the gals always
do poorly. I don't think any of the girls last night threw a rock anywhere near a tile and all threw short. Being on limited food for 20 something days
took some toll from all of them. I just thought the rock throwing and the subsequent crossbow shooting favored the men. Since this is the Russell show, it was
a way to be sure Laura didn't win another IC.
And Bas, Russ was on the winning RC team of 5 that got a clue to the HII location being under a rock. Dave was near the place where Russ found it but didn't look under the right rock. |

Former Galu must be drinking water that hasn't been boiled... deciding to use John as bait, without discussing that w/John until AFTER the decision was
made, was not smart at all
What was smart (or lucky?) or the result of some spying we were not shown, was Russell not playing the HII and then all the Galu votes going to Natalie... I have to think that SOMETHING was said near Russell, or Shambo, or someone, that let Russell know he was not the vote target Russell has played one HII when there was no need... one when it saved him... and now HELD one when playing it wasn't needed Since Shambo flipped a long time ago... John has either fully flipped or at least was upset about being told he was going to be bait AFTER the decision... it would seem that Former Foa is now in the majority This time (so far, at least) Russell has not told ANYONE he has the HII, so he could go on with that stealth mode and really shake things up if he thinks he is a vote target The rest of the season should be interesting |

My Top 3 Reasons To Watch Survivor Samoa
1. Russell plays this game like no other. Even if you were/are offended by his initial Dumb Bitch Alliance, you can't deny that he'll go down in Survivor history as one of (if not THE) the most clever people to play the game. And for the record, I think Russell deserves full credit for finding each and every one of those HII... I don't think he was "led" by cameramen. 2. I've been waiting for weeks for this... the downfall of Laura! Just wish we'd seen her mouth hit the floor when she realized that yet another Galu member had turned on her/Galu. 3. It is a HOOT to watch Erik's reactions at each tribal council. I don't know what's more fun: watching him cheer on his old Foa Foa foes, or seeing the How does it feel, bitch! looks that he gives his old Galu tribemates when Jeff puts out their torches each week! |

skeptik wrote: Unfair to girls? Nope. What's unfair is that we are being represented season after season by a bunch of dumb ass model wanna-bes. Guys they pick athletic types for the most part......in all the seasons of Survivor we sure haven't seen many athletic ladies. I can't believe in this day and age when practically everyone and their brothers belong to a gym, and just as many girls as boys play sports, that they can't find some more competitive women. I'm tired of these bimbos who think they're gonna make it through by batting their eyelashes at the men. |

Maybe MB can recruit some WNBA power forwards with some skills that don't look too bad in a bikini. And from the few ladies softball pitchers I've
seen on TV, maybe the gals should have thrown underhand last night. I still say it wasn't quite fair to the ladies left this season.
