From all accounts, Adams is going to outsell Kris several times over. Looks like his publicity stunt worked... Gotta give the guy props..

I don't care who Adam kisses, he does have singing talent... although he, and many others, could do without the raunch on stage
And, he is right in one thing... girl singers and some guy singers have been doing similar for years on stage and on TV... so I do think he is being singled out due to being gay |

Well maybe not so fast....his first single has plummeted in the ratings and his second released single is not doing well...Only time will tell...

TigerJohn wrote:He was singled out for being gay. Even when news reports reported on "the scandal" and compared it to Madonna and Brit's kiss, they showed the female same sex kiss, but didn't show his. Also, a few years ago, Pink did a number quite similar to Lamberts where she grabbed a female dancers and shoved her into her crotch, much the same as Lamberts. That was aired on TV with absolutely no controversy at all. Personally, I think he should have gone easy on the raunch for what was his first live show. But yeah, he was punished for being gay. |

Pink and Madonna are bigger than him, this is his first time out. They didn't come out first time controversial, they worked it in.. I think the fear is
where would he go.
As for outselling Kris Allen.. Kris was a snore on Idol, now his "Live like Your Dying" makes me think if that was the case I'd never hear this song as I wouldn't have time. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ I like Adam but he has to get more succesful singles out and a better PR person to play it better. He made the statement "I'm not apologizing" and then seems to have back tracked and implied he understood people being shocked as if to say "Oh Sh** maybe I played that too fast.." Maybe he should contact Lady Ga Ga and her management who has the hits to back up the weirdness.....we love her... |

Ms. Neko, I agree that Adam should've "worked in" the controversy a bit later after he has become more popular with the masses. However, I also
think that the main reason why he did what he did was because he wanted his first album to sell like hotcakes. I mean, why would he do something like this
around the time when his first album was released?
I think Adam needs to concentrate on the MUSIC instead of the controversy this time. He has already become a household name due to the "crotch controversy" so it's time show people that he actually has
talent now (for those who don't know Adam). I'd say that a duet with Lady Gaga will definitely do the trick
Maybe, a remake of David Bowie's "Changes" with a pop/dance beat is about to be released....hmmm . |

I agree with you DJNT, that it's almost an amateur mistake. He is hugely talented, I like his "What Do You Want From Me?" (hoping that is the
name), and to me shock stuff doesn't work but I'm an old broad. It's ok for watching on TV or something but it doesn't translate to music sales
too much does it?
I tend to know the current music because of my young teen daughter. I understand that I won't always like her preferences, but I am comfortable with what she likes so I do feel if he gets too shocking or even obscene, it will turn her and her friends off. I loved Adam's Tears for Fears remake of "Mad World" and Michael Jackson's "Black or White". I even have them on my IPod. Bowie's "Changes" is a great idea for him, but even more of his original stuff and relying more on talent and image and less shock would be noticed more. If given or has the chance, Adam would to me be a fool to pass on a chance to duet with Lady GaGa, who I happen to find fascinating. I think she is the most current and hugely sophisticated in marketing herself, but also has the talent to back it up. While not a Madonna fan, she was the original in recreating while I do like her music too, Lady GG seems to have upped it a notch for the twenties. |
