Everyone please add or correct me IF I am wrong, but the way I understand this is that Roman Polanski (child rapist prick) has been arrested in Switzerland for his 1970s crime because we have a treaty with them to extradite felons. This man sought haven to France since confessing to the crime as US did not have a similar treaty with France.

This is an old story and it's easy to forgive as time goes on, but the way I remember it is he was the husband of Sharon Tate who we all know from the Charles Manson murders and deserves some compassion. But as a mother of daughters his going on after that tragedy to rape a young girl is not. Roman Polanski CONFESSED and is therefore CONVICTED of raping a 13 year old girl (who parents fault may be a civil issue, the victim says she thought she was there to model) and supposedly he gave her alcohol and drugs in CA (but still 13) at actor/friend Jack Nicholson's home (who I believe was away and in no way connected but may be one of his current supporters.. I am not sure on that.)

Polanski confesses to his behavior and cops to a plea deal but heard the since dead judge may choose to a tougher sentence, so Polanski bails as a coward to France.

During the quiet time he settles financially with the victim who has since grown and wants this put behind her. She of course is the complaining witness but as this is a case against the People of California and her cooperation is not mandatory but it would be preferred.

Since he was a rapist, he wins the OSCAR for "The Pianist" (I think) and lots of Hollywood stood up and praised him and implied he should have been at the ceremony, like he was dead. Which, as a mother makes me want to vomit.

Now he is caught and is fighting extradition....Swarzenegger has reportedly said NO to clemency.. Picture your daughter, his not being famous and just another scumbag getting caught.

I personally don't think he should have even been eligible for an OSCAR as a fugitive, but given my opinion is irrelevant, as a mother and US citizen I wonder if this scumbag admitted rapist should come back and face his deed and fight any since deceased judge issue and the fugitive penalty. Maybe he could even plea to time served and he could come to the OSCARS legitimately next time. As a coward (former rapist) he could continue to fight to be the entitled, victimized prick that he is and should anyone support him? How does anyone appreciate those actors/actresses that think that his raping children is OK because he is maybe considered a "genius" or "victim"?
