Is this a Re-Crap show? The few promos seem to show Russ from earlier weeks with the beard shorter.
Talk about tonight's episode here.

Yes, it's a recap show. Not much we haven't seen before. Another Survivor-Russell show.

My re-cap of the S Re-Cap:
The big reveal is that Russell told Mick he made $1.7 Million last year as the owner of an Oil Company and Mick told Russ he was a Doctor. I had assumed the others knew Mick's job but I guess not. Russ, in a moment of reflection around the campfire in the rain, said he didn't have to be in Samoa. The others asked what he meant and he caught himself and passed it off as nothing, but Mick cornered him the next day and he told him he was rich. I think it was an idiotic mistake. No matter if it is Mick and Russ as F2, or Mick is in the jury, Mick can reveal his secret wealth. The other stuff is more forgettable. Jaison in an early comp called out John after they won and threatened him. Jaison gave some family history where the KKK ran his father off his land. ( I don't know if I buy the timeline unless his father is 70 years old and had Jaison when he was 45.) Shambo was crying about her sister's death 20 years ago to Laura on the beach in her bikini (implants or natural for Laura?). Laura was sympathetic but somehow Sham turned it into a diatribe against Laura and how she hates Laura. We saw an extended scene of Erik chasing the chicken Shambo lost, making a trap with the fish net, Sham catching the chicken in the net, and returning it to the cage. Then we see Russ late at night opening the cage door to let the chickens out. |

I missed it, but thank goodness it was a recrap episode. I'll check it online tomorrow.
For someone who appears to be the only one playing the game, Russell sure has a big mouth. He couldn't wait to tell everyone he had the HII, now Mick knows the guy is a millionaire? Sheesh. |

I don't understand Russell's game plan by sabotaging his tribe. By letting the chickens go, he's losing a source of food too, not just the rest of
the tribe. Even in the beginning when he put Jaison's sock in the fire and the other stuff he did, I didn't get it. Anybody have any theories about
this?

My idea is that Russhole wants people to be thinking about anything BUT the game
Pouring out water, burning a pair of socks, opening the chicken door... anything that can make people so upset that they think about themselves and not the game I won't say that Russhole is a magician, but the way they work is sleight of hand and misdirection... get people to concentrate on "this" while you are really doing "that" A very good example was Russhole finding his third HII - while he was being followed!!! |

Russell's misdirection strategy may be effective post-merge, but he sure didn't do Foa any favours by weakening them. It's also a risky move on
his part since he was almost caught by Dave. But I guess the chickens didn't escape since nothing came of it. I can see the "divide and
conquor" strategy he is using but it also makes him vulnerable if people start comparing notes. If Russell has a problem, it is that he is seriously
underestimating everyone left in the game, thinking they are stupid.

I disagree. I think Russell's strategy is brilliant. Every move he makes, every comment(almost), every interaction has a purpose. Everybody else pretty
much is hanging out and only playing the game when they're about to go to TC; case in point Laura never once concidering how her treatment of Shambo might
come back to bite her, or Foa considering that it might be wise to consult John before using him as bait.
Since Russ has the HII, its only real value is if the votes are directed at you. Numbers are waning and its becoming more dificult to dorect the vote. How better to protect yourself and your people than to draw the ire of the group to yourself, get them to turn on you, then use your vote to eliminate whomever you want. That is my guess as to Russ's strategy, but I could be wrong, of course. But to those who complain about the Russ Show, who else is playing the game? Foa never had to strategize until the merge, really, and even now aren't that interesting to watch. They didn't even try to find the HII, but only to thwart Russell, and they couldn't even do that. Tell me, who else is worth watching? Dave Ball? Shambo? Monica? John is interesting only because his old tribe mates tried to use him and he was smarter than them. |

Russell's strategy is brilliant only if it works out. But judging from the previews, it looks as if he may be playing his cards too soon if he tries to
get rid of Mick while there are still plenty of Galu members hanging around. He's starting to get cocky and this is where he might trip up. But he still
has the HII, so we will see next week.

Yeah, but the previews are all about deflection, deception, and getting us to watch...
